Just like riding a motorcycle, you should wear long pants and long sleeves. Boots are the recommended type of footwear for riding an ATV. Wearing the appropriate clothing will help you avoid scrapes and road burn should your ATV tip over or suffer some kind of accident.

Follow the Rules

Know the rules of the trail. Don't go too fast because this can cause your vehicle to become unstable and can lead to accidents. Get to know the rules in your state regarding age, carrying passengers and safety certification requirements before you head out on your ATV.
